ABOUT
Veanne is an American filmmaker of Vietnamese and Chinese heritage.
Her father (pictured) worked as a video engineer and cam op during the heyday of analog. Surrounded by Betacams, soundboards, and a couple of fresnels, she spent her childhood shooting whimsical narratives with her brother. That early exposure sparked a lifelong love for storytelling and led her to study film and media at the University of San Francisco, where she graduated summa cum laude.
She spent the next decade in video journalism before moving into the creative agency space as a video director. Throughout, she continued to write and direct independent short films. Her work, ranging from intimate dramas to comedies inspired by life's small absurdities, has screened at festivals worldwide.
